The main difference between regulated and unregulated training comes down to external government oversight. Both options offer immense value, but they serve different professional goals.

Regulated training courses are officially recognised, quality-assured, and monitored by government-approved regulatory bodies (such as Ofqual in England).

We are an officially registered training centre. This means our facilities, instructors, and management systems have been strictly audited and approved to deliver national regulated qualifications.

Important Notice: Course Interruptions and Alternative Certification

While we make every effort to deliver and complete all scheduled regulated training courses in full, unforeseen events beyond our control can occasionally disrupt final external assessments or the full delivery required for a formal national qualification.

• Important Notice: Attendance, Course Interruptions, and Alternative Certification

  To maintain our regulatory status, we must strictly enforce the following conditions regarding course execution and qualification sign-offs:

  • Events Beyond Our Control: While we make every effort to deliver scheduled courses, unforeseen events (e.g., extreme weather, facility emergencies, power failures, local or national emergencies, industrial action, or sudden regulatory restrictions) may disrupt training. If a regulated course cannot reach final assessment due to these factors, the regulated pathway will cease, and candidates will receive an unregulated Certificate of Attendance or Completion reflecting the training hours completed. 
  • Candidate Absence and Mid-Course Departure: Candidates who leave mid-course and return at a later time or date cannot receive a regulated certificate. The rigid structure governing national awards does not permit partial, fragmented attendance.
  • Customer Release Responsibility: It is the customer's or corporate booker's sole responsibility to ensure that candidates are completely released from all work-related duties for the full, uninterrupted duration of the course. This includes use of work mobile phones, radios & laptops. 
  • No Automatic Sign-Offs: Our trainers are bound by strict legal compliance guidelines. They will not under any circumstances sign off on or award a regulated qualification if the candidate has failed to fulfill all instructional and assessment criteria.

  Note: The issuance of an alternative unregulated certificate under force majeure or attendance failure conditions constitutes a full discharge of our training delivery obligations for that specific booking. Complete scheduling rules can be viewed in our full Terms and Condition

  
  
• Fallback to Unregulated Certification: If a regulated course is permanently interrupted or unable to reach final assessment due to such circumstances, the regulated certification pathway will cease. Candidates will instead receive an unregulated Certificate of Attendance or Completion from our registered training centre, reflecting the training hours and practical skills covered up to that point.
• Full Discharge of Obligations: The issuance of this unregulated certificate fulfills our training delivery obligations for the affected booking. Where feasible, we will use reasonable endeavours to offer an alternative date to complete remaining regulated requirements, subject to availability and our full Terms and Conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an unregulated course illegal or poorly looked upon?
No. Unregulated simply means it sits outside the government's formal school/university credit system. Many industry-leading certifications in technology, business, and creative fields are completely unregulated but highly valued by employers.

Will I still get a certificate if I take an unregulated course?
Yes. You will receive an official Certificate of Completion from our registered training centre to prove your attendance and training hours to employers.

How do I know which one to choose?
If your industry requires a specific license to practice (like healthcare or security) or your employer needs to meet a legal compliance law, choose regulated. If you just want to learn a new skill, master a software tool, or boost your team's day-to-day productivity, choose unregulated.

Which course, regulated or unregulated, will I be registered for when I make my booking?

You will automatically be registered for a regulated training course.  If you require a unregulated course you must state this at the time of booking.
